Join in the Continuation and Growth of Community-Engaged Scholarship

Submitted by Lauri M Baker

Kansas State University welcomes Dr. Scott Peters as a part of the launch of the interdisciplinary PhD in Leadership Communication and the Leading Change Institute. The PhD will welcome its first class of students in fall 2018 who will be charged with developing dissertations using community-engaged scholarship. Peters has published articles and delivered keynotes, lectures, and workshops across the country about community-engaged scholarship, reengaging in the Extension mission, and developing people since 1996.

Peters will meet with many colleges across campus to share his work related to community-engaged scholarship, learning, and development.

Peters will hold a special session for K-State Research and Extension on Wednesday, September, 20, from 1:30-3:30 pm at the Kansas Department of Agriculture. The session, "Reimagining Extension," will allow those engaged in Extension work across Kansas to come and share their experiences and learn about how Peters' work may help inform theirs. It will also be live streamed, http://ome.ksu.edu/services/dash/live_webcast_1.html.

More information about Peters and his full public schedule while he is at K-State are available at http://ruralengagement.org/scott-peters-visits-k-state.
