Open Enrollment Helpful Resources

Submitted by Mary Gatza

October 1-31 is open enrollment for the following benefits:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurances
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
  • HealthyKids
  • Accidental injury, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurances
  • Life insurance
  • Short-term disability

Human Capital Services has created an open enrollment website to highlight the benefits available during this open enrollment period. The State Employee Health Plan also has worked with many of the insurance vendors to provide information and tools that will assist in making decisions for enrollment for 2019. This website provides links to the open enrollment overview video, vendor presentations, and a new tool, Alex. Alex is an educational tool that will help employees compare different plans and aid in the decision-making process before enrolling in coverage for 2019.

As a reminder, all benefit eligible employees who currently have coverage must enroll in health coverage during the open enrollment period — October 1-31 — or they will default into Plan N for 2019 coverage. Employees who currently have waived coverage in 2018 will continue to have waived coverage in 2019. For directions on how to enroll in the State Employee Health Plan and other voluntary benefits for open enrollment, see the Human Capital Services open enrollment website.
