MILEAGE RATES
The November 26, 2002 edition of the Tuesday Letter said that the mileage rate for using a privately owned vehicle when a state owned vehicle was available had changed from 22 cents to 26 cents per mile.

Unfortunately that was not correct information. The mileage rate remains at 22 cents per mile. Sorry for the confusion this has caused. The information has been corrected at the K-State Research and Extension Travel Website: http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/operations/travel.htm . --Stacey M. Warner swarner@oznet.ksu.edu

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 6, 2003
Several years ago, e-mail addresses appeared as userid@oz.oznet.ksu.edu. In 1999, a decision was made to drop the "oz" from the address and have everyone use userid@oznet.ksu.edu. We have kept the oz.oznet.ksu.edu address active to give everyone time to transition to the oznet.ksu.edu address.

Effective January 6, 2003, the userid@oz.oznet.ksu.edu will no longer be valid. Please check your e-mail  client, reply to address, signature, any listserv, and local distribution lists and change the oz.oznet.ksu.edu to oznet.ksu.edu.

One simple way to check your signature and your reply to address is to send a message to yourself and observe the from address and the signature.

In Pegasus Mail, you can search for your oz.oznet.ksu.edu address to find anyone to inform about the change. To do this, close all folders. Open the folder list and select Edit, Find text from the main menu bar. Search for youruserid@oz.oznet.ksu.edu. Search in all folders and check Search message headers only. When the search is done, sort by date.

Be aware that any business cards, letterhead, or any other publications that contain the userid@oz.oznet.ksu.edu address will no longer be able to contact you at that address, these items will need to be changed. For more help contact your local support technician or e-mail support@oznet.ksu.edu. --Roger V. Terry rterry@oznet.ksu.edu

POINSETTIAS GALORE!
K-State Floriculture, along with eight other universities, is participating in a nationwide evaluation of 25 poinsettia cultivars from five poinsettia suppliers. The plants were grown by students in Hort 570 Greenhouse Operations Management, with assistance from Lea Westervelt and her staff. A grower Field Day will be held on December 6, 2002, and the North Central Region results will be posted to the web site: http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/dp_hfrr/Floriculture/Poinsettia/welcome.htm before the Christmas holiday.

As a part of this effort, we are collecting consumer preferences data on Friday, December 6, 2002, from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.. If you, and/or anyone that you know, would like to fill out a quick survey which asks you to rank how appealing you find these poinsettia cultivars, drop by the main hallway of the Throckmorton Greenhouses near the 106 bay (you can't miss us!) and collect one free poinsettia for a few minutes of your time (while supplies last). --Kim Williams kwilliam@oznet.ksu.edu
