Finances and the Farm - An Online Class to Enhance your Farm Management Skills

Submitted by Robin Reid

Finances and the Farm is a first-of-its-kind online class designed exclusively for farmers and ranchers of all types to enhance their farm management skills when it comes to agricultural finance. This self-paced course provides 3 1/2 hours of content over 21 short videos with hands-on activities for participants to practice applying what they learned using either a Cattle/Crops or CSA/Farmers Market case farm. Topics include Recordkeeping, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, Goal Setting and Managing Family Living Expenses. This class can either be taken for education-only ($100) or for Farm Service Agency Borrower's training financial credit ($300).

Please help promote this program locally by using our webpage, https://www.agmanager.info/events/finances-and-farm-online-class, where you can find a news release and flyer linked at the bottom. Social media content can also be found in the Marketing Mashup from KSRE communications.

This class serves as great professional development for KSRE staff wanting to know more about farm financial management. If interested in registering, contact Robin Reid directly at robinreid@ksu.edu and a discount code will be provided to take the education-only class for $25.
