KSRE Annual Conference - Proposals Welcome for Pre-Conference Research Symposia

Submitted by Megan Kennelly

As announced back in March, this year's K-State Research and Extension Annual Conference will be held October 18-20, 2022.

The theme this year will be "Connect, Collaborate, Create." The Conference Planning Committee has been working hard on speakers, networking activities and many other details. Thank you to the committee and to all who have provided input to them in recent months.

Research Symposia - Pre-Conference Activity

**Proposals due 5:00 p.m. on July 20**

We have an exciting opportunity to showcase research as a pre-conference activity on the afternoon, Monday, October 17.

Research teams are invited to submit a proposal for a pre-conference symposium.

• Timeframe – anywhere from 2 (3-5 p.m.) to 4 hours (1-5 p.m.).

• Format – The symposium could include a slate of speakers, panels, posters, flash-talks, etc, in any combination that the research team feels is effective and appropriate for a general KSRE audience. For example, there could be two main speakers (20 minute talk with 10 minutes for questions each), then a 30 minute panel talking about upcoming research plans for 2024 field season and how agents can get involved, then a 30 minute poster session if the research team has a large enough group where there are at least 5-10 posters to look at. You can be creative in your format! What is the most effective way for your team to communicate its research?

Researchers - Watch for details very soon from your department head/unit leader on how to apply including a brief application template.
