Shout Out: Wildcat District Team

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

This Shout Out comes from James Coover, Crop Production agent in the Wildcat District, and is directed to the Wildcat District Team. James writes:

"The Wildcat District team is truly an amazing group of agents and staff. I want to thank them deeply for the great amount of effort that each one put into creating, advertising, organizing and finally implementing one of the biggest local programs that we've had, The Makers Fair and Extension Expo. This was nothing more than a vague idea I've had for a couple of years now and the team dove into it without a single hesitation. Each of them had a part in it and brought it all together in a spectacular way. A special thanks to our director, Frances. She spent so much time on the event while still having all the other responsibilities of being a director of one of the state's biggest districts. I also want to thank the SE Center researchers and staff, Jennifer and Hunter from Southwind, Ryan from the KFS, Pam from NRCS, David from the Kansas Energy Program, and a few other local agencies.

I am simply amazed at the cohesiveness and drive of the Wildcat District and I'm proud to be a part of that exceptional team. A sincere thank you to my friends and coworkers, the Wildcats.

The Makers Fair and Extension Expo was a festival of two dozen crafters, a number of agencies and demonstrations from every branch of extension. In the end we had nearly 300 people attend, many likely had very little contact with K-State Extension before."

Wildcat District Team, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.

If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not nominate them for a Shout Out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu. Also, it would be very helpful if you would put "Shout Out" in the subject line of the email.
